Dear parents and students,
I hope you all enjoyed your Moon
Festival celebrations last weekend, and the shortened working week that
followed.
We have been very busy in Grade 4
this week, beginning last Tuesday with our planning of our Personal Narratives.
We have been following the Writing Process throughout this week, paying close
attention to each step. Over the past four days we have Planned, Drafted,
Revised, and Proofread our work. On Monday, we will begin the final step;
Publishing.
We finished our first Maths topic
midweek, and have begun Topic 2, following our first Maths test. The overall
results for the tests were quite pleasing. If you haven’t already, please sign
your child’s test (once you’ve looked at it), and return it to me. This
practice is to ensure that parents are aware of their child’s performances and
any difficulties they may be facing.
We continued our study of
geography in Social Studies this week, paying most of our attention to
different types of landforms. Next week, we will continue our studies in
geography, turning our focus to climate, and how it affects different lands and
people.
Thank you to all of the parents
who came along to the Introductory Evening last night. It was good to meet the
‘new’ parents, and also to catch up with those of you I have met before. For
those of you who couldn’t make it, I will be attaching an online presentation
to this blog very soon. Please watch this space!
